"arky"'s Story
One year at General Motors Institute trying to figure out if I could be Jim Hall or not, then 4 years at Oneonta State (because Wayne Mickiewicz was the only guy I knew who was really happy where he was, and that's where he was, oh, and because they accepted me late--studied many things but got the BA in sociology), then married, then another 2-and-a-half years at OState, then divorced, then off to CA to find fame and fortune.
Which I have yet to find.
Then married again (at 35) then divorced again (at 45). No kids, lotsa cats (only 4 now).
A house 40mi south of San Jose, a 1974 Fiat 124 Sport Spyder in the garage (a car that hasn't turned a...Expand for more
wheel under its own power in 12 years) and a VW GTI and a Smart (yippee!) in the driveway. One guy, three cars: go figger. Big San Jose Sharks fan (season-ticket holder, too).
A HUGE HO slot car track in the garage, HO trains in the garage, and I still have the comics I has in HS. More books that I could ever read (I studied Lit in grad school).
I'm editing technical documents for Oracle now, but I've been with various companies in the last 30 years. I ran my own marketing communications/graphic design company for 10 years, too. Now I'm looking forward to retirement, which can't happen soon enough but will probably take its time getting here.
